德进九 - Te Chapter 79

天下之道 酉张弓者也

高者印之 下者举之 有余者损之 不足者补之

故天之道 损有余而益不足

人之道则不然 损不足而奉有余

孰能有余而有以取奉于天者乎 唯有道者

是以圣人为而弗有 成功而不居也

若此 其不欲 见贤也

天下万物生长运行所遵循的道理，就像引弓（拉弦）射箭一样。（拉弦的手）面对高的目标就向下按一点；面对低下的目标就举高一点；弓拉得太满就松一点；弓拉得不够就再拉开一点。 所以天地运行的道理，是减损有余量（事物的余量资源）去补充给不足的事物。而人间遵循的道理则不一样，是通过减损本来就不够（用的人事的不足资源）来奉献（侍奉）给有余量的人事。 谁可以使那些有余量的人事把获得的（余量）资源（按照天地运行的道理）奉献出来？只有遵循基本道理行事的人。所以通达事理的人有所作为但是不占有（余量）资源；获得成就但是不会居功。就像这样不以欲望（驱动的）行事，（在常人眼中）就表现出贤能来。

The principle that governs the growth and operation of all things in the world is like drawing a bow to shoot an arrow. When faced with a high target, one pushes down a bit; when faced with a low target, one raises a bit; if the bow is pulled too tight, one loosens a bit; if the bow is not pulled enough, one pulls a bit more.

Therefore, the principle that governs the operation of heaven and earth is to reduce surplus to supplement the shortage. However, the principle that governs human affairs is different, which is to reduce what is already insufficient to serve those who have surplus.

Who can make those who have surplus to give it away according to the principle of heaven and earth? Only those who act according to basic principles. Therefore, a person who understands the principles of things acts without desire and is considered capable in the eyes of others.
