Tao Chapter 10

"Essence and blood" as the source material of life activities in the human body, operate in the circulatory system (along different circulation pathways) to continuously maintain human body life activities (grain enters the stomach, and is passed to the lungs, the five organs and six viscera, all receive qi, the purest of which is the nutritive; that which comes from birth is called essence, and the coming and going of essence is called pneuma; the nutritive controls blood, the lungs store qi, and qi gives off pneuma). The state and life activities of the human body are closely related, don't deviate from it, can you do it? "Qi" as the source of power for human body functions. Like spinning and weaving, ordering and gathering the qi within the body to drive human body activities, can you be fully focused on one thing at a time like a baby? (When qi is full, the spirit is born, the spirit is the Yang spirit, when essence is full, the pneuma is born, the pneuma is the Yin spirit, in short, when essence and qi are together, the spirit and pneuma gather)

Clear away distractions, observe oneself, when cleaning the dirt on the stained mirror of the heart, can you clean it completely? (renew oneself)

Being benevolent and loving the people, when governing the country, can you maintain a state of "being at ease without doing"? (governing outside)

Continuous changes and feedback from the outside world impact the individual's senses, can you maintain a soft and calm state? (responding to the outside)

When understanding the principle, can you not use cleverness to challenge and change? (maintaining correctness)

This is the ability that is innate (but gradually lost) and can be maintained through daily cultivation and exercise.
