道总述 - Tao Ching
道 - The Tao
“天地”这个概念出现之前就存在着一系列的基础规则(事物)。那些规则彼此交错又相互缠绕的样子,由此形成了这五光十色的世界(“天地”)。这个“事物”的运行逻辑是独立于这“天地”之外的;并且不管“天地”怎么变化,祂的规律不会改变。可以称祂为孕育“天地”的母体。 我不知道祂真实的命名,所以根据祂的表现起一个表字,叫“道”。如果一定要勉强的命名祂,我尝试命名祂为“大”。这个“大”涵盖了所有的意义,阐释了时间的古往今来(卜筮),阐释了空间的远近,阐释了循环往复的规律。 根据上面的定义,“道”是“大”的表现,天是“大”的表现,地是“大”的表现,王也是“大”的表现。 整个天下有四个是“大”的表现,“王”是其中之一。因为人依靠大地过活(衣食住行在地上);地上作物依靠天象得以生生不息;天象是依照特定的“道理”而成;这个“道理”是依靠内在的规律自我驱动而成。 国谓王之国(周朝时,“王天下”)。
Before the concept of "heaven and earth" existed, there was a series of fundamental rules (things) that existed. These rules intertwined and intertwined with each other, thus forming this colorful world ("heaven and earth"). The operating logic of this "thing" is independent of this "heaven and earth"; and no matter how "heaven and earth" change, its rules will not change. It can be called the mother body that gave birth to "heaven and earth".
I don't know its true name, so based on its performance, I give it the name "Dao". If it must be named, I will try to name it "Da". This "Da" covers all meanings, explains the past and present of time (divination), explains the distance and nearness of space, and explains the cyclical laws.
According to the definition above, "Dao" is the expression of "Da", heaven is the expression of "Da", earth is the expression of "Da", and the king is also the expression of "Da".
The entire world has four expressions of "Da", "king" is one of them. Because people rely on the earth to survive (clothing, food, housing and transportation are on the earth); crops on the earth rely on the sky to survive; the sky is based on specific "principles" and self-driven; this "principle" relies on the inherent laws to self-drive.
谨慎做出自我驱动的保证。 狂风刮不了一个早晨,暴雨也下不了一整天。是什么导致这个结果? 天地尚且不能长久存在,何况是人呢? 所以关注做的事情。在做事的过程中形成自己的处事之道是合乎道理的;做事的过程中取得的进步就是自身的收获;做事的过程中失去的也是自身的损失。 进一步的,关注自身的收获,会促进处事之道的进步;关注自身的损失,也会伤害自身处事之道形成。
Be careful making self-motivated guarantees.
Even the wind can't blow for a whole morning, or the rain fall for a whole day. What causes this outcome?
Even heaven and earth cannot exist forever, let alone human beings.
Therefore, focus on what you are doing. The way you handle things in the process of doing them is reasonable; the progress you make in the process of doing them is your own gain; the loss you incur in the process of doing them is also your own loss.
Furthermore, focusing on your own gain will promote the progress of the way you handle things; focusing on your own loss will also harm the formation of the way you handle things.
水流沿河道而走,但河道不是恒久不变的。名词(概念)是可以定义的,但名词(表达的含义)不是恒久不变的。逻辑上,先有万物,后有名词;有了名词,可以推衍万物。现实中,万物从“无”开始,“有”之后再孕育万物。持久保持虚怀若谷的状态,从“无”的角度观察事物外在细微精妙之处;从“有”的角度观察事物内在的边界和周边环境的关系。从事物出发,分别从”有“和”无“共同定义出事物本体。就像给丝线染色一样(凡玄色者,在緅缁之间,其六入者与),持续迭代,最终形成具体而微的本体描述。
Water flows along the river's course, but the river's course is not always constant. Nouns (concepts) can be defined, but the meaning of nouns (expressions) is not always constant. Logically, there are things before there are nouns; with nouns, things can be inferred. In reality, things start from "nothingness," and after "existence," things are born. Maintaining a state of emptiness, observing the subtle and intricate aspects of things from the perspective of "nothingness"; observing the relationship between the boundaries and surroundings of things from the perspective of "existence." Starting from things, the ontology of things is defined from both "existence" and "nothingness." Like dyeing silk thread (the dark color is between the yellow and the black, and its six elements are all in it), continuously iterating, and ultimately forming a specific and subtle description of the ontology.
水 - The water
接受持续的弯折锻打,才能凸显出不失自我的品性;经历了不公正的对待,才能凸显出正定安在的气度;遇到低凹的地方,才能感受到其中水面逐渐积累丰盈的样子;感觉到事物的陈旧落后,才能针对性的创新;感觉到有欠缺,才能有意识的去补充;反倒是拥有的多了,反而会引起困惑。所以通达事理的人凭借这个基础逻辑就可以治理天下。 不臭美,自然气质温润华美;不固执己见,兼听则明,自然清楚方方面面;不以为自己有多大能力,适当引导周边人事,自然获得成就;清晰自己的定位,不夸大自己的能力,不硬撑,自然长久的维持自身的状态。 因为了解自身的能力,可以做差异化定位,不会跟周边人事争夺资源,所以也没有什么人可以和自己争夺的。 古人描述金属“百炼不轻”,说的也是成材的秉性。这是实实在在的价值所在。 久埋不生衣,百炼不轻。此二句言黄金之德。
It is through continuous twists and turns that one can develop a sense of self without losing it; experiencing injustice allows one to maintain a dignified bearing; encountering difficult times allows one to appreciate the gradual accumulation of prosperity; recognizing the outdated and backward allows one to innovate in a targeted way; feeling a sense of deficiency allows one to consciously supplement it; having too much, on the other hand, leads to confusion. Therefore, those who understand the principles of things can govern the world by relying on this basic logic.
Being unassuming allows one to naturally exude a warm and beautiful demeanor; not being stubborn allows one to be open-minded and clear-sighted; not thinking oneself as having great abilities, but properly guiding those around one, naturally leads to achieving success; clearly understanding one's own position, not exaggerating one's abilities, and not trying to maintain a facade leads to a naturally sustained state.
By understanding one's own abilities, one can differentiate oneself and not compete with others for resources, and thus there is no one to compete with.
As the ancients described, a metal goes through hundreds of refinements without losing its innate properties, this is where true value lies.
擅于行走的人,不会留下车辙马迹;擅于言说的人,面面俱到不会留下言语漏洞、疏漏过失;擅于计算的人,不需要借助额外的计算工具(竹筹编简);擅于闭藏的人,即便不使用门栓插销别人也打不开;擅于捆绑的人,即便不使用绳索捆束别人也解不开。 所以通达事理的人总是擅于发现每个人所擅长的部分,一方面可以阻止人(利用擅长、不走正路)犯错,另一方面也会让人(发挥擅长、不当废物)不被抛弃。面对世间万物都能挖掘出其中的价值,都能各得其用而不被遗弃,这就可以称得上是通晓天地万物、没有一处不明了的了。 所以善于发现擅长的人,擅于引导那些人发挥出擅长;而不善于发现擅长的人,更多关注的是那些人已经创造的价值。 不珍视那些引导自己发挥所长的人,不爱惜自己创造的价值的人,只当做天生我才、自诩聪明智慧的人,其实就是一叶障目不见泰山。这是具体而微,值得重视的事情。 救,犹禁也。以礼防禁人之过者也。
Skilled walkers leave no tracks; skilled speakers make no slips; skilled accountants need no counting board; skilled closers require no bolts; skilled binders need no ropes.
Therefore the sage is skilled at helping people to find their own talents and abilities, preventing them from making mistakes by utilizing their strengths and not allowing them to be wasted or discarded. He is able to see the value in all things and use them effectively without wasting any.
Therefore, those who are skilled at discovering people's talents and abilities, and guiding them to use their strengths, are better than those who focus solely on the value that has already been created.
Those who do not value the people who guide them to use their strengths and do not cherish the value they themselves have created, and only consider themselves to be naturally talented and intelligent, are actually blind to the bigger picture. This is a subtle but important point to consider.
能看透人心(知人善任)的叫智慧;能看清自己、真正认识自我的叫通透。 能战胜别人的,说明很有力量;能够克制自己的弱点、战胜自己的,算得上是刚强。 知道满足的人才能达成“富裕”的目标;不管前路困苦,也能坚持身体力行的人,心意坚定,是有志气的。 安守本分,不做超出能力的事情,肉身可以长久的生存;肉身死去而精神不亡,代表着活着的长久意义。
Being able to see through people's hearts (knowing how to appoint people) is called wisdom; being able to see through oneself, truly understand oneself is called transparency.
Being able to defeat others means having a lot of strength; being able to restrain one's own weaknesses, defeat oneself is considered strong.
Knowing how to be satisfied can achieve the goal of "prosperity"; no matter how difficult the road ahead is, those who can persist and practice, have a strong will.
Sticking to one's own duty, not doing things beyond one's ability, the body can survive for a long time; the body dies but the spirit does not, represents the long-term significance of living.
最上乘的吉祥和美好(善)就好像水一样。 水之“善”在于,生发万物而不自以为成就(安然守静),洗涤尘垢使得自身污浊也安在不动,所以可以舒服的坐于水道之上。 住的地方是美好的;知识渊博而心地清澈是美好的;给予他人时心中保持真心诚意是美好的;为政时治理得井井有条是美好的;做的事情是自己擅长的是美好的;行动的时候顺应天时是美好的。 只要心中没有竞争的概念,就不会有怨。
The ultimate good luck and goodness is like water.
The goodness of water lies in its ability to nourish all things without claiming credit for itself (staying calm and still), and in its ability to wash away dirt and impurities without becoming dirty itself. Therefore, it can comfortably sit in a stream or river.
Living in a good place is good; having a wealth of knowledge and a clear mind is good; giving to others with a sincere and honest heart is good; governing with order and discipline is good; doing what one is skilled at is good; and acting in accordance with the natural timing is good.
As long as there is no concept of competition in the mind, there will be no resentment.
车辐条装到车轮毂上形成完整的轮子,轮毂中空成就了车的作用。 揉和泥土制陶器,陶器中空的地方,才有容器的作用。 开凿门窗建造房屋,正因为房屋内的空间,才有房屋的作用。 所以,物品有形的部分让人能够判断物品的品类和价值,而物品的无形空间才是真正发挥作用的地方。
The spokes of a wheel are attached to the rim to form a complete wheel, and the hollow space in the rim enables the wheel to function.
Clay is mixed and molded to make pottery, and the hollow spaces in the pottery give it the function of being a container.
Doors and windows are carved out and houses are built, and it is precisely because of the space inside the house that it serves its purpose.
Therefore, the tangible parts of an object allow us to determine its type and value, but it is the intangible space that truly allows the object to fulfill its function.
流水之道 - The rule of waterflow
天下都知道美之所以叫美,已经有了恶。都知道善,这就是不善。有的定义,从无而生成。难的定义,从简单的完成而来。长的定义,从短的形状而来。高的定义,从下的盈满而来。音的定义,从声的应和而来。先的定义,从后的跟随而来。这些是持久的定义。所以通达事理的人做事的时候不会想着自己的付出、对结果有诉求“一定要把事办成”(安在无为),教化的时候也不需要夸夸其谈。世间万物生生不息、此消彼长,兴发而没有起始(和终结),不需要依靠也可以有所作为,获得成就也不就地停留。因为不会在一个地方停留,也就无所谓离去。
All in the world know that beauty is called beauty, there is already ugliness. All know good, this is not good. Some definitions come from nothingness. Difficult definitions come from simple completions. Long definitions come from short shapes. High definitions come from low fullness. Sound definitions come from harmonious sounds. Prior definitions come from following. These are enduring definitions. Therefore, those who understand principles do not think about their own efforts or have expectations for results when they act (therefore they are able to achieve without doing), and when teaching, they do not need to boast. All things in the world are constantly changing, with this dying out and that flourishing, arising and not having a beginning (or an end). They can accomplish things without relying on them and achieve success without dwelling in one place. Because they do not dwell in one place, there is no need to worry about leaving.
与其保持着水的盈满(限制着不动),不如让她像蛇一样流淌起来。因为通过外力赋予(锻打)的尖锐属性,是没法长久保存的。 满屋子可见的财富,没有办法守护得住。因为富贵使人骄横,于是给自己带来了过失(灾祸)。 功成名就之后,就不用贪恋功名、居功贪位,放下,这是天(长大久远)的道理。
It is better to let wealth and possessions flow like water, rather than to try to keep them in a stagnant state. The sharpness and strength that come from external forces are not sustainable.
A house full of visible wealth is not able to be protected. Wealth and status lead to arrogance and eventually brings misfortune.
After success and fame have been achieved, one should not be greedy for fame and power, but let go and follow the way of nature, which is long-lasting.
天地无所谓与人交心,因此世间万物各司其职(自家饲养的牛羊等草食牲畜和牧羊犬牧牛犬的关系),自成生态;通达事理的人不需要与人交心(也能明事理),明了人生百态各有所因、自成其事。 天地之间此消彼长、生生不息(很难穷尽),就像脚踩式气筒(古时鼓风吹火用)一样,自然回弹的时候内里空虚(进气),轻踩的时候送风(出气)越大。 见闻越多,越觉得自己的知识不够用(被穷尽了)。这个时候,不妨坚守自己认为的正信中道,以此做出决断。
Heaven and earth do not care about interacting with people, so all things in the world each perform their own duties, creating their own ecosystems; those who understand principles do not need to interact with people (and can still understand principles), they understand the various circumstances of human life and each has its own cause, and create their own events.
The world between heaven and earth is constantly changing, with this dying out and that flourishing (it is hard to exhaust it), like a foot-operated bellows (used in ancient times for blowing fire), when it is naturally rebounding, it is empty inside (inhaling) and when it is lightly stepped on, the wind (exhaling) is greater.
The more one sees and hears, the more one feels that their knowledge is not enough (has been exhausted). At this time, it is not bad to stick to the middle way that one believes in, and make decisions based on it.
真正做事情的时候不需要也不能顾及自我(的形象)。 自我的人臭美,其实旁人未必觉得他(她)穿着华贵漂亮;自我的人坚持自己的见解,其实未必真的能够看清事物;自我的人常常说自己能力多强,其实未必真有什么成就;自我的人常常夸大自己,其实未必真的能长久维持。 这样的人在前进的道路上表现出来的状态就象吃撑了的人背着很重的包袱前行。可能会被目标事物所厌恶(而不能成事),所以真正想做事的人不会那么自我。
When doing something, one should not and cannot take into account one's own image.
A self-centered person may not be seen as well-dressed or fashionable by others, may not be able to see things clearly, may not have real achievements despite claiming to be capable, and may not be able to maintain their boastful claims for long.
Such a person's actions may be met with aversion, and thus, someone who truly wants to accomplish something will not be self-centered.
不以有财(才)为高人一等,使平民之间没有(减少)争端;不以难得的财物为贵重,使平民间没有(减少)偷盗行为;不展示各种可以满足的欲望(的方法),使平民的内心不迷乱。这就是通达事理的人实现治理的手段。 内心不因为无谓的成就而沾沾自喜、实打实享受现实吃饱穿暖的感觉;降低设立好高骛远的目标、脚踏实地的追求自身能力的提升(筋骨强健)。使平民恒久处于这种不空想不好高骛远的状态。 明确知道能力边界而不冒进,不用作为就自然而然的停止,这样的状态之下,没有什么问题不能被治理解决的了。
Not considering wealth (talent) as a measure of the superior, so that there is less conflict among common people; not valuing rare wealth as valuable, so that there is less stealing among common people; not displaying various methods to satisfy desires, so that the hearts of common people are not confused. This is the means by which those who understand principles govern.
The inner self is not elated by meaningless achievements, but truly enjoys the feeling of having enough to eat and being warm; lowering the goal of being too ambitious, and striving to improve oneself in a down-to-earth way (strengthening one's bones and muscles). Keeping common people in a state of not being overly ambitious for a long time.
Knowing one's own limits and not being reckless, naturally stopping without having to act, in this state, there is nothing that cannot be solved by governance.
天上下四方无边广大,地古往今来恒久存在。天地之所以宏大且久远,是因为祂的存在不是通过自身的繁衍而来(而是通过生生不息的观察者持久的探索和发现维持存在),所以能够持续的长大久远的生长下去。 因此通达事理的人不需要参与到行动的第一线就能对前方情况了若指掌并对行动做出指示,也可以毫不关注自身状态却又活得好好的。这种功劳让给他人,不关注自身状况的情况,难道不是无私么?这种把握根本规律的智慧,恰恰成就了他们自己。(菩萨畏因众生畏果)
The universe is boundless and vast, and the earth has existed for a long time. The reason why the universe is so vast and long-lasting is because its existence does not come from its own reproduction, but rather from the constant observation and exploration of those who keep it alive. Therefore, it can continue to grow and last for a long time.
Therefore, those who understand the principles of life do not need to be involved in the front line of action in order to understand the situation and give instructions for action. They can also live well without paying attention to their own state of being. This kind of achievement is given to others, and not paying attention to one's own state of being is not selfish? This kind of wisdom that grasps the fundamental laws, precisely achieves their own. (The Bodhisattva fears the cause of the sentient beings and fears the result)
流水 - The waterflow
(泉水)沿着水道(泉眼)向上涌流,使用着水道而不充满水道。 那打着漩涡水口的样子(道),就像万物从中创生一般。水流消磨石块的锋锐;梳理水草的纷扰(不打结);调和耀眼的光芒;把尘垢混同在一起。(参考洗衣机) 那水流清澈透明的样子(水),使得水的存在若隐若现。我不知道水的(源头)从哪里来,应该先有水再有水道,那是在“道”出现之前就存在了(明一者皇,察道者帝,通德者王)。
(A spring) flows upward along the watercourse (the spring eye), using the watercourse without filling it.
The appearance of the water (the Tao) that spins in eddies, is like the way in which all things are created from it. The water flows and wears away sharp edges of rocks; it smooths out the tangles of water plants; it harmonizes the dazzling light; it mixes together dirt and sediment. (Like a washing machine)
The appearance of the water that is clear and transparent, makes the water's existence seem to appear and disappear. I do not know where the water (source) comes from, it should be that the water existed before the watercourse, that was before the "Tao" appeared.
从溪流汇聚成河流一路积聚力量奔腾到海,知道那下游的雄浑,但仍然安守柔弱的本分,这就是天下溪流的共性。 世间所有的溪流,都沿着水道持久的流淌着。持续前进不离开道路,回归到婴儿纯真柔和、全身心投入的状态。 黑色的布帛是从对白色上色反复印染而成。安守住这个上色的过程,知道这一切的起源是从白色而来。这就是汇聚溪流形成山谷间河流的积累过程。汇聚成河流,是溪流持久流淌的结果。溪流汇入河流,是一个新的起点,又回归到好像没有经过雕琢的木材一样。 获得黑色的布帛裁剪成衣冠并穿上身,安守住黑色的高贵,但是也知道这是从白色而来(正视源头不自卑,以德配位不自负),以此心态才可以作为天下人的表率。作为表率督促和带领大家,需要保持持续进步,不可以推卸责任。承担起带领大家持续前进的责任,这样获得的进步也是没有尽头的。 把原木切割开,可以打造出不同作用的器物。通达事理的人则以此为新的起点和榜样,培养出更多有表率作用和治理能力的人来。因此,要达成治理天下的大目标,不在切割。 以白造缁曰辱。 夏尚黑,周传袭。周人平民冠、婚大礼时服“缁布冠”;周天子冬季“居玄堂左个,乘玄路,驾铁骊,载玄旗,衣黑衣,服玄玉”
A river starts as a small stream and gathers strength as it flows, eventually reaching the sea. It knows the power of its downstream flow, but still stays true to its humble origins. This is the nature of all rivers.
All streams in the world flow continuously along their paths. They keep moving forward without deviating from the path and return to the pure and gentle state of a baby.
A black cloth is made by repeatedly dyeing white fabric. By staying true to the dyeing process, one knows that the origin of all things is white. This is the process of how streams gather to form rivers in valleys. Gathering to form a river is the result of the continuous flow of streams. When streams flow into rivers, it's a new beginning, and it's like returning to undressed wood.
When the black cloth is cut and made into clothes and worn, one should appreciate the nobility of black, but also know that it comes from white (face the source without humility, match position with virtue without arrogance), this attitude can be a model for the world. As a model to supervise and lead others, we need to maintain continuous progress and not shirk responsibility. Taking on the responsibility of leading others to progress continuously, the progress we achieve will be endless.
When a log is cut, it can be made into different tools. The person who understands the principles takes this as a new starting point and model, and trains more people with exemplary performance and governance capabilities. Therefore, achieving the great goal of governing the world is not in cutting.
水脉流入地下,(从光明转入)昏暗幽深,根本的原因是重力的作用;单纯追求速度,很容易偏离目标,所以一定要以清明的思路主导行动。所以统治者出行离不开充分的后勤准备。 虽然治理群众的时候被群众拱卫,要保持燕子满足于简陋的燕窝的心态,就能清楚冷静的注意到周边事物的细节,就像被光明照耀一样。 那么如果已经成为了“王”,但是以身犯险,率众亲身进入昏暗的境地会怎么样呢?会在昏暗之中迷失自我,而过分的追求效率(速度)则会失去主导的能力。 羽丰则迟,羽杀则趮。
The flow of water into underground, (from light to darkness), the fundamental reason is the force of gravity; pursuing speed alone can easily deviate from the goal, so one must always lead actions with a clear and rational mindset. Therefore, leaders must always make sure to have adequate logistical preparation.
Even when ruling the masses, one must maintain the mindset of a swallow being content with a simple nest, in order to observe the details of the surrounding things clearly and objectively, as if being illuminated by light.
So, if one has become a "king", but risks oneself and leads the masses into the dark, what will happen? One will lose oneself in the darkness and lose the ability to lead by excessively pursuing efficiency (speed).
刚从山中出洞而尚未成流的泉脉,经过谷口可以形成流域,是因为水流持续不断绝的产出,被叫做“玄牝”。 两山之间狭长而有出口的、形成流域的低地,像门一样,可以叫“玄牝之门”。水流于其间,生生不息,孕育万物,可以作为天地间生命的根源。 水流顺水道而行,连绵不绝,顺从的存在。 依靠水可以被砂石泥土阻断的特性,将泥土做成容器或沟渠(人工水道)来使用她。 堇,黏土也。
A spring that has just come out of a cave in the mountains and has not yet formed a stream, can form a watershed by passing through a valley because of the continuous and incessant output of water, called "mysterious female."
The narrow and long lowland between two mountains that has an outlet and forms a watershed, like a gate, can be called "the gate of the mysterious female." The water flows within it, endlessly reproduces and nurtures all things, and can serve as the root of life between heaven and earth.
The water flows along the watercourse, continuously and obediently existing. By taking advantage of the characteristics of water that can be blocked by sand, rocks and mud, it can make containers or channels (artificial watercourse) to use it.
水道 - The path of waterflow
水势浩荡,但还是沿水道而行。换句话说,水道可以左右水势(引导)流向,成功达到了目的,但是称不上是水道“自己”的成就。 就像流水汇聚到水道之中,沿水道而流一样,万物(自然而然的)来归附(到预设的道路之中),但实际上它们并不以为(道路或道路规划者)是自己的主宰。不主宰任何事物,是没有私欲的,可以称得上是“低微”;万物归附而不以主宰自居,可以称得上是“伟大”。所以通达事理的人可以成就伟大。 因为他们做的事情很小(但成就很大),并且实事求是(不自以为大),所以称得上是“伟大”。
Water flows wildly, but still follows the watercourse. In other words, the watercourse can guide the flow of water, successfully achieving its goal, but it cannot be considered the "achievement" of the watercourse itself.
Just like water flows into the watercourse and follows it, all things (naturally) come to adhere (to the predetermined path), but they do not consider themselves (the path or the path planner) as their own masters. Not mastering anything is selfless, it can be called "humble"; all things adhere and do not consider themselves masters, it can be called "great." So those who understand principles can achieve greatness.
Because what they do is small (but the achievement is great), and they are realistic (not self-important), it can be called "great."
大势在手,天下哪里都可以去得了。设定目标之后,达成目标的过程不会造成损害(裹挟大势、形成合力),全程表现出安稳、平顺、宏大的状态。过程中丝竹管乐、美味佳肴都可以享用,但是不要喧宾夺主,适可而止。 所以水道引导的水势流向,获得的效用无穷无尽,却不会刺激到外部眼耳鼻舌等感官,甚至很难被感知到。
With great power in hand, one can go anywhere in the world. After setting a goal, the process of achieving it will not cause harm (exploiting power, forming alliances), and it will be stable, smooth, and grand throughout. During the process, one can enjoy music, delicious food, but one should not be a noisy guest, be moderate.
Therefore, the watercourse guides the flow of water, and the benefits obtained are endless, but it will not stimulate external senses such as eyes, ears, nose, tongue, etc., and it is even difficult to be perceived.
仔细看但是看不到的,叫“细微”;认真听但是听不到的,叫“寂静”;触摸但是没有无所得,叫做“平滑”。这三种感官极致细微之处是无法区分和计量的,所以这里就不加区分,总称为“一”。 基于这个“一”来描述世间事物,描述“有”的时候不会产生谬误(谬,狂者之妄言也);描述“非有”的时候边界也不会不明晰。 这个“一”在自然界中很难找到对应的概念,也没有物质相对应。这就是没有形状的形状,没有物质的形象,可以叫“空虚”的存在(朢,月滿與日相朢,以朝君也)。 在水道之中随波逐流时,随浪而去不知道后来者情况;迎浪而上也不知道源头何来。 把握现实存在的水道,就能驾驭现实水道中的存在,也可以以此进一步反推水道演化的过程。这就叫做“道”的头绪。
The subtle that is seen yet not seen is called "subtle." The silent that is heard yet not heard is called "silent." The smooth that is touched yet not touched is called "smooth." These three sensory extremes are difficult to distinguish and measure, so they are not separated here and are generally referred to as "one."
Describing the things in the world based on this "one," when describing "existence," there will be no errors; when describing "non-existence," the boundaries will also be clear.
This "one" is difficult to find a corresponding concept in the natural world and there is no corresponding material. This is the existence of something without shape, without material, which can be called "emptiness."
In the waterway, when flowing with the current, one does not know the situation of those downstream; when facing the waves, one also does not know the origin.
Holding on to the reality of the waterway, one can control the existence in the reality of the waterway, and can also further deduce the process of the evolution of the waterway. This is called the "Dao" of the beginning.
立足当下,如何在有限的视野中,寻找前进(攀登)的方向。最简单的办法,沿着“道路”前进。 怎么样识别“道路”呢?通过对比(朢)和抽象(忽)而来。 先抽象再对比,形成概念(象征意义);先对比再抽象,形成物体的边界(与其他物体不同之处)。 高深的道理,隐藏在表象之下,也很难描述出来。但是表现是客观的、真实的、遵循内在规律的。从当下追溯到远古,这些内在规律是不变的,以此反推事物的源头。我之所以能知道世间万物的本源,就是依据这个办法。 朢,月满与日相朢,以朝君也; 忽,忘也。忽忽不省事也。

Deep principles are hidden under appearances and are difficult to describe. But the performance is objective, real, and follows the inner laws. From the present to the ancient times, these inner laws are unchanged, and thus we can trace the origin of things. The reason why I know the origin of everything in the world is based on this method.
治水 - To govern waterflow
以前那些善于治理水道的人,知识结构和处事方式是精细的、巧妙的、持续迭代进步的、思路明晰通达的,他们的表现出来的能力只是冰山一角,真实的水平深不可测,很难用常规的语言来描述。因为没法描述他们的真实水平,所以只能通过描述他们外在的表现来勉强说明一下。他们, 大象般小心谨慎,就好像严冬时履冰过河的样子;猿猴般时刻警觉,就好像随时防备着被别的邻居(猴)骚扰的样子;(不管事情有多紧急)他们时刻保持庄重,就好像在别人家作客一样。 当需要开辟(尝试)新方向的时候,他们表现出持续的积累(并最终获得成果),就好像冰凌消融的样子;当对事物不了解,积累知识的时候,他们表现出巨大的可塑性,就好像没有经过雕琢的木材一样;当需要阐述观点、表达自我的时候,他们把握住大的方向,可以容忍错误,就好像江河中奔流着的浑浊的水流;他们通达事理,对万事万物(的规律)都清楚明了,好像山谷一样可容万物,没有什么问题不可以解决。 对于奔流的浑浊水流,当你需要使用她们的时候,只需要把浊水静置,就可以慢慢清澈下来;把这些水流使用起来(灌溉),就能逐渐生发万物。 按照这个规律治理水道的时候,要保护水道,就不能把水道充满。只有保留一定的空间,才能处理掉沉淀物,去故更新。(堵不如疏)
People in the past who were good at governing the waterways had knowledge structures and ways of handling things that were delicate, clever, continuously iterative and progressed, and had clear and comprehensive thinking. Their abilities that were shown were only the tip of the iceberg, and their true level was deep and unmeasurable, making it difficult to describe with conventional language. Since it is difficult to describe their true level, it can only be explained by describing their external performance.
They were like elephants, who were cautious and careful, as if walking on ice in the middle of winter; like monkeys, who were always vigilant, as if always prepared to be disturbed by other neighbors; and always maintained their dignity, as if they were guests in someone else's house.
When new directions needed to be opened, they showed continuous accumulation and eventually achieved results, like melting ice; when they were not familiar with things, they accumulated knowledge and showed great plasticity, like unrefined wood; when they needed to explain their views and express themselves, they grasped the big direction, could tolerate mistakes, and were like muddy water flowing in rivers; they were clear-minded, understood the principles of all things, were like valleys that could accommodate everything, and there was no problem that could not be solved.
For muddy water flowing, when you need to use them, you just need to let the water settle and it will gradually become clear; if you use these water flows (irrigation), you can gradually develop all things.
Following this rule, when managing waterways, it is important to protect them by not filling them up completely. Only by preserving a certain amount of space can sediment be removed and the waterway be constantly renewed. (It is better to let things flow than to block them)
“精血”作为人体生命活动的本源物质,在体内循环系统中运作,(沿不同循环通道)持续维持人体生命活动(谷入于胃,以传与肺,五脏六腑,皆以受气,其清者为营;生之来谓之精,并精出入者谓之魄;营主血,肺藏气,气舍魄)。人体表现的状态和生命活动息息相关,不要背离,能做到么?“气”作为人体功能活动的动力源泉。像纺锤纺纱一样理顺、聚集体内的气来驱动人体活动,能像婴儿一样一个时间段全心全意只做一件事么?(气足则生魂,魂为阳神,精足则生魄,魄为阴神,合而言之,精气复,魂魄聚) 清除杂念,观察自身,清洗被染色心镜上的污浊的时候,能清洗干净么?(自新) 仁爱百姓,治理国家的时候,能保持“安在无为”的状态么?(治外) 外界持续的变化和反馈影响冲击着个人的感官,能保持柔顺安静么?(外应) 通达事理的时候,能不用智巧去挑战、改变么?(守正) 这就是与生俱来(而逐渐丧失)的能力,再通过日常培养锻炼来保持。

(When qi is full, the spirit is born, the spirit is the Yang spirit, when essence is full, the pneuma is born, the pneuma is the Yin spirit, in short, when essence and qi are together, the spirit and pneuma gather)
Clear away distractions, observe oneself, when cleaning the dirt on the stained mirror of the heart, can you clean it completely? (renew oneself)
Being benevolent and loving the people, when governing the country, can you maintain a state of "being at ease without doing"? (governing outside)
Continuous changes and feedback from the outside world impact the individual's senses, can you maintain a soft and calm state? (responding to the outside)
When understanding the principle, can you not use cleverness to challenge and change? (maintaining correctness)
This is the ability that is innate (but gradually lost) and can be maintained through daily cultivation and exercise.
绚丽的色彩,让人眼前一亮(以至眼花缭乱);纵情追逐猎物,会让人精神亢奋(心浮气躁,以至狂乱难收)。稀有难得的财物,会让人走上歪路。 美味佳肴口感舒爽,但是过度的味觉刺激会导致味觉受损。美妙乐曲令人享受,但是沉迷于靡靡之音会令人蒙蔽,对正经事理听而不闻,显得蒙昧无知。 因此通达事理的人经营自己的方略是,注重赖以生存的根本,而不是追求单纯感官的刺激、声色浮华。所以他们可以摒弃那些让人偏离正常的物欲,从而获得对自身完全的管理。 方,旁出也。 爽本訓明。明之至而差生焉。 罷,有賢能而入罔。
Bright colors can be dazzling to the eyes, while chasing after pleasure can be exhilarating but can lead to recklessness. Rare and valuable possessions can lead one astray.
Delicious food can be satisfying but overindulgence can damage the taste buds. Beautiful music can be enjoyable, but becoming obsessed with it can lead to a dulling of the senses and ignorance.
Therefore, those who understand the principles of life focus on what is essential for survival rather than superficial stimulation and grandeur. They are able to reject desires that lead them away from balance and gain complete control over themselves.
受到重视(恩宠)或贬斥都会导致惊乱,可能引起灾患,对这些灾患需要引起重视,就像重视自身性命一样。 重视或贬斥怎么会导致惊乱?被重视的那一方往往是处于较低的位置,受到重视会感觉惊喜,而失去重视又会无所适从、惊慌失措。这就是重视或贬斥都会引起惊乱的原因。 为什么要和重视自身性命一样重视可能的灾患?“我”为什么会有灾患,正是因为“身体”的存在。如果身体不存在,灾患就失去依附或者降临的目标了。 所以重视自己身体更甚于对天下的重视,这样的人是可以囊括天下;而奉献自己的身体一心为天下的,反而成为“天下”的附庸。

Therefore, valuing one's own body more than valuing the world is a way to encompass the world; while dedicating one's own body wholeheartedly to the world, it becomes a "world" vassal.
水循环 - The water cycle
恭维与呵斥,相差有多远?赞美与厌恶,区别在哪里? 一些人所畏惧的,也不得不畏惧(另)一些人。如此环环相套,循环往复,就像日月相望,没有尽头。 大家其乐融融,有时间聚在一起享受大餐,有时候相约春日登高;而我则哪都不去,也表现不出什么意愿,就像婴儿还不会嬉笑的样子。这样的状态持续积累起来,没有缓解和释放的地方。别人都觉得有收获,可只有我总觉得有所欠缺。这种“不知道”(求知)的状态,让我的心绪始终表现出浑浑噩噩的样子。 普通人很清楚明了的事物和道理,我却总觉得有些地方想不明白;普通人放任自流的事物,我却独自追根究底。 无知的领域就像大海一样广博;从知道到发现不知道再知道的过程好像没有止尽一样。 大家很容易就可以接受“存在”的事物,只有我表现得因循守旧、害怕接受新事物。我想要的总是和常人不同,因为我追求的是最为根本的道理。

I don't understand the things and principles that are clear to ordinary people, and I dig deeper into things that they take for granted.
The field of ignorance is as vast as the ocean, and the process of knowing, discovering, not knowing and knowing again seems endless.
Everyone can easily accept the existence of things, but I am conservative and afraid of accepting new things. I always want something different from others, because I am seeking the most fundamental principles.
来到房屋中栋梁的位置(正中至高的地方);控制住自己的情感不表露于外。万物蓬勃生长,我就可以观察其中的生生不息、循环往复的表象。 天上云气舒卷,化作雨滴落下,渗入地表,又化作泉水喷溅而出,积水成流孕育万物。这就是心理上发于自然的意念。而这个意念就是生命循环往复、生生不息的原因。 生生不息、循环往复是长久不变的道理;知道这是基本规律,看待事物就很清晰,一目了然;如果不认可或者不了解这个基本规律,就会临时起意,胡乱下判断;做事轻举妄动是凶险的。 知道事物循环往复的发展规律,就不会为一时的低谷而影响心境,就可以更加包容的看待事物;因为包容,所以看待事物就可以比较客观,待人接物也就表现出比较公允;而公允的人就可以兼顾人心和自然(天地),合而为一,可以称为“王”;以此指引民心所向,推动社会长久发展,也就逐渐成为上下四方广大的存在;知道的人越多,合力越大,就形成了相对稳定的发展道路;道路形成之后可以相对长久的存在。即便失去了领导人,也不会有什么危险。 德合天地者称帝,仁义合者称王。 仁:会意字,两个人,人对人的道德约束;义:義,羊代表祭牲,“我”去祭天,代表人对“天”的道德约束,公义。

Clouds rise in the sky, turning into raindrops that fall and seep into the earth, then becoming spring water that gushes out, accumulating to form streams that nurture all things. This is the natural idea that arises in the mind. And this idea is the reason for the cyclical and unceasing nature of life.
The principle of unceasing and cyclical nature is unchanging and eternal. Knowing this basic rule, one can see things clearly and understand them at a glance. If one does not acknowledge or understand this basic rule, one will act impulsively and make hasty judgments, which is dangerous.
By understanding the cyclical and unceasing nature of things, one will not be affected by temporary lows and can view things with more tolerance. Because of this tolerance, one will be more objective and treat others with more fairness; a fair person can balance the needs of people and nature, and will be called a "king." By guiding the hearts of the people and promoting long-term development, one will gradually become a widely recognized presence among all directions. As more people come to understand this, the collective power will become stronger, and a relatively stable development path will be formed. Once the path is established, it will be relatively long-lasting. Even if the leader is lost, there will be no danger.
自然 - Nature
最博大的上位者,所有人都知道他的存在(中位);次一点的(上位者),大家愿意亲近赞誉(正面);再次一点的,被人害怕(负面);最下等的,人人都想教训他。 说话不够实诚,不信任也就凸显出来了。要象猿猴警觉的样子,时刻注意自己的言辞,明了千金一诺的道理。说到了,顺理成章就做到了,大家会告诉我:这都是自我驱动的结果。
The greatest leader is one of whom all the people know, the next is one of whom some people know, the next is one of whom few people know. The one who speaks little and is not trusted is the one who is feared. The one who is least known is the one who is taught.
If you don't speak with sincerity, people will not trust you. Be like a monkey, always aware of your words and adhering to the principle of a single word being worth a thousand pieces of gold. When you speak, do so with ease and people will tell you that it's all due to self-motivation.
当已经成型的大方向(道路)被废弃的时候,社会自发的道德约束(仁义)就凸显出来(摆上台面)。当意识到智慧差异性的出现,巨大的人为成就也就凸显出来。当六亲不和睦的时候,奉养和慈爱也就凸显出来。家国发展不明朗、各种方向错综复杂混乱不堪,侍奉上位者但仍然能坚守“正”道的就凸显出来了。
When the established direction (path) is abandoned, the society's spontaneous moral constraint (benevolence and righteousness) will come to the fore. When the difference in wisdom is realized, great human achievements also become apparent. When the six relatives are not harmonious, filial piety and love will also become apparent. When the development of the country and family is not clear, and various directions are complex and chaotic, those who can still adhere to the "correct" path while serving the ruling class will come to the fore.
不再接受通达事理人的指引,放弃智慧高的那部分人的领导,普通民众根据自己的需求互相帮助,可以更加干脆利落的办成事情;放弃社会面“道德”的约束,只是从自身的利益角度出发,普通民众自然会回归相互的奉养和慈爱;离开了机巧的事物和额外的利润,都是各取所需,那就不会再有强盗和小偷。 上面那三句话描述的都是理想状态,其实是空话(很难达成),所以描述一下可以达成的前提条件:外在衣食住行保持朴素,内里控制并减少欲望。 如果能做到,那么哪怕理论的传承断绝也不需要担忧什么,不会有什么问题。
If we stop accepting guidance from those who understand the principles of things, and stop relying on the leadership of those who are wise, ordinary people will help each other based on their own needs and be able to accomplish things in a more straightforward and efficient way. If we stop being constrained by societal "morals," and only consider our own self-interests, ordinary people will naturally return to mutual care and love. By leaving behind complicated things and extra profits and each taking only what is needed, there will no longer be any bandits or thieves.
These statements describe an ideal state, which is difficult to achieve in reality. To achieve it, we need to keep our material needs simple, and control and reduce our desires.
If we can do this, even if the transmission of theory is broken, we won't have to worry about anything and there won't be any problems.
治理 - Govern
所作所为都是为了要夺取天下,我认为这样的事是没有尽头(无法究竟)的。“天下”是通达万物的器物,是不会被(个体或团体)有意识的影响的。 试图去影响“天下”的行为其实会破坏平衡,会败坏祂;自认为拥有祂(而尝试控制祂)的,其实已经失去祂了。 天下万物,物性各有不同。有的多动,有的懈怠;有的光彩夺目,有的煽风点火;有的强健,有的折伤;有的还是胚胎(未烧过的砖瓦陶器),有的已经被抛弃了。 所以通达事理的人不做过分的事情,不做高大全的事情,不做极端侵占的事情。 (亳有祥桑榖共生于朝,一暮大拱)
The aim of all actions is to conquer the world, but I believe such a thing is endless. "The world" is a tool that encompasses everything, and it cannot be consciously influenced by individuals or groups.
Attempts to influence the "world" actually disrupt the balance and damage it. Those who think they possess and try to control it, in fact, have already lost it.
All things in the world have different characteristics. Some are active, some are lazy; some are dazzling, some are flammable; some are strong, some are broken; some are still embryos, some have been abandoned. Therefore, those who understand the principles do not do excessive things, do not do perfect things, and do not do extreme and invasive things.
应用之前分享的道理来协助治理普罗大众而成为上位者,不要依赖武力强行“治理”,因为所作所为很容易会得到反馈的。 军队所到之地,(人丁稀少、耕地荒废)荆棘丛生。善于治理的人达成战争目的就不再继续用兵了,因为用兵不是为了证明兵力强健。获得战果,不会因此而显得傲慢;获得战果,不会因此而觉得自己很了不起;获得战果,不会因此而到处吹嘘;获得战果,(以战略目标为准)不随意侵占已经占领的地方。这就叫获得战果而不显强势。 事物过于强大就会走向衰老(盛极必衰),这样事物所遵循的道路不能长久保持,这就是“存在不能长久保持的道路”的道理。 不能长久保持的,就会早早消亡。

A good governor will not continue to fight after achieving the goal of war, because fighting is not to prove the strength of the military. Obtaining victory will not make one arrogant, feel superior, boastful, or invade occupied places without a strategic goal. This is called obtaining victory without showing strength.
Things that are too powerful will decline, this path that things follow cannot be sustained for long, this is the principle of "paths that cannot be sustained for long."
What cannot be sustained for long will disappear soon.
刀兵是预兆不吉的器物,国家不喜欢它。所以(对治理)有所求的不会长久的使用它。 贵族在日常生活中以左为尊位,而用兵打仗则以右为尊位。所以日常扮演“贵族”这个角色的时候不需要使用刀兵。 刀兵是预兆不吉的器物,只有在不得已的时候才使用它。它以锋利便于杀伤为上品,不要去赞美它。如果赞美它,就隐含着以杀人为乐;不可能凭借“以杀人为乐”来获得到天下人的认同。 对应的,办喜事以左边为尊位,办丧事以右边为尊位。对应的,偏将军在左方驻军,而上将军则在右方驻军。这里隐含的意思是说,用参加丧礼的状态来对待战争。参战就要杀人,凡是参战的,保持悲痛的心情立足于战场之上。打了胜仗,也要以丧礼的规制来处理。 或,会意字,以戈卫国;本义,国家;用本义时读作“yù”。 日常生活面南背北,东(左)青龙属木主生发,西(右)白虎属金主肃杀、刀兵之象。贵左即贵生,贵右为敬死。

Correspondingly, in happy events, the left side is honored, and in funeral events, the right side is honored. Correspondingly, the commander of the left army is stationed on the left, and the commander of the right army is stationed on the right. This implies that war should be treated as a funeral. Participating in war means killing, and all who participate must maintain a mournful attitude on the battlefield. After winning a battle, it should also be handled with the regulations of a funeral.
要把东西从地上捡起来,必须先把手张开;想要弱化对象特定的方面,对象的这个方面必须先有一定的强度;想要远离特定的对象,必须事先参与对方;想要剥夺对象特定的东西,必须先让对方提前拥有的。 这就是一点微小的亮光就可以带来光明(事物发展源起于微毫)道理。 在(对方)弱小的时候就交好对方远胜于等到对方强大了(再去结交);就像鱼离不开幽深而清澈的水源(自然而然、视而不见)一样,有效治理国邦的工具并不需要时时审察民众。
To pick something up from the ground, you must first open your hand; to weaken a specific aspect of an object, that aspect of the object must first have a certain strength; to stay away from a specific object, you must first participate with it; to deprive an object of something specific, you must first let the object possess it beforehand.
This is the principle that a small amount of light can bring light (things develop from the smallest things).
When the other party is weak, it is better to make friends with them than to wait until the other party becomes strong; just like fish cannot leave the deep and clear water source (it is natural and unseen), the tools for effectively governing a country and people do not need to be constantly examined.
道 - Tao
道理蕴藏在其中(有无穷的表现),因此始终无法(完整的)命名祂。就像未经雕琢的木材(有无限可能),即便很简单、很低微,但是天下间没有敢确定(祂)一定是屈从的那一方。诸侯君王若能遵守道理(进行治理),那么世间万物符合道理,就自然而然的服从于治理了。 天地间的冷暖气流交汇相合,驾驭天降雨水和地上河流的平衡。这个过程不需要任何人发号施令,就自动达成水的均匀分布。 世间万物的创生运转从一开始就遵循一定的规律,这个规律通过后来的分析能够被抽象还原出来,进一步形成规则和制度,这个规制是可以被描述命名的。有了描述,那么这个规制的边界也就清晰了,就应该知道“适可而止”的道理。知道这个边界,做事的时候就不会遇到危险。 把简单、精炼的道理应用到世间万物之上,就好像流域源头从山谷流出,最后形成江河大海一样。

Like unshaped wood, it has infinite possibilities, even if it is simple and insignificant, but no one in the world dare to decide who will submit. If rulers and kings can follow the principles of governance, then all things in the world will naturally comply with the governance.
The temperature and airflow between heaven and earth merge and balance, controlling the balance of rainfall and rivers on the ground. This process does not require anyone to give orders, and the distribution of water is achieved automatically.
The creation and operation of all things in the world has followed certain laws from the beginning, this law can be abstracted and reduced through later analysis, further forming rules and systems, which can be described and named. With a description, then the boundaries of this rule are clear, and one should know the principle of "moderation." Knowing this boundary, there will be no danger when doing things.
Applying simple and refined principles to all things in the world, is like a river flowing out of a valley and eventually forming a river, a sea.
道理恒久存在,但是无法(完整的)命名祂。诸侯君王若能遵守道理(进行治理),那么世间万物服就可以寻求自身发展。自身发展的过程中私欲也会随之出现。这时候就提醒自己,实际上对道理的理解和应用的把握只是冰山一角,就像未经雕琢的木材一样。知道自己的欠缺(鄙薄)之后持续寻求进步,就不会觉得羞愧。不觉得羞愧,也就不会影响到内在情绪。没有情绪左右,天地自我平衡,保持正定发展。
