德卅九 - Te Chapter 39
昔之得一者 天得一以清 地得一以宁 神得一以霝 浴得一以盈 侯王得一而以为正 亓致之也
胃天毋已清将恐莲 胃地毋已宁将恐发 胃神毋已霝将恐歇 胃浴毋已盈将恐渴 胃侯王毋已贵以高将恐欮
故必贵而以贱为本 必高矣而以下为基
夫是以侯王自胃孤寡不穀 此亓贱之本与 非也 故致数与无与
是故不欲禄禄若玉 硌硌若石
过去基于(无法名状的)根本道理成为“存在”的属性。天空得以变得清明;大地得以变得安宁;天上的雷电(自然神灵)得以化作甘霖落到地上(类人的灵性);谷地流水得以充盈;诸侯君王得以获得被大众认可的“正统”。这些事物的基础(逻辑)已经发展到了尽头。 如果天空大气不停止(运动),清明可能会被打破(风云涌现);如果大地不停止(运动),安宁可能会被震动打破;如果闪电不停止(运动),雨露可能会停止;如果谷地不停止(运动),河流可能会枯竭;如果诸侯君王不停止(运动),再富足再身居高位也可能会受到挫折。所以区分富足的标准,是以贫贱为根本;区分高位的标准,是以处于低下的地位为基础。 所以诸侯君王都自称为:孤(失去长辈)、寡(失去爱人)、不穀(能力有限),这是基于他们本身是“低贱”、“卑下”(的原因)么?不是这样的。所以这是穷尽最大的资源的实在,作一无所有的表述。所以这是不需要像宝玉一样的浮华晶莹,而希望实实在在的像山石一样的坚硬。
亓,其。甲本上半部(《德经》)大多用“亓”,下半部(《道经》)都用“其”。个人猜测有特殊用意,从一、丌(下基),基础底座上的存在(“一”)。
In the past, based on (unnamable) fundamental principles, it became the attribute of "existence". The sky becomes clear; the earth becomes peaceful; the thunder (natural gods) in the sky turns into gentle rain falling on the earth (human-like spirituality); the valleys and rivers become full; the kings and lords gain recognition of the "legitimate" from the public. The foundation of these things (logic) has reached its end.
If the sky's atmosphere doesn't stop (movement), clearness may be broken (clouds will appear); if the earth doesn't stop (movement), peace may be shaken; if lightning doesn't stop (movement), rain may stop; if the valleys and rivers don't stop (movement), the rivers may dry up; if the kings and lords don't stop (movement), even if they are rich and in a high position, they may still be defeated. So, the standard of wealth is based on being poor; the standard of high position is based on being in a low position.
So, all kings and lords call themselves: orphaned (losing elders), widowed (losing loved ones), and not rich (limited ability), is this because they themselves are "low" and "humble" (the reason)? It's not like that. So this is the reality of exhausting the greatest resources, expressing nothing. So this is not needing glittering like precious stones, but hoping for solidity like rocks.
