道卅三 - Tao Chapter 33

知人者 知也

自知者 明也

胜人者 有力也

自胜者 强也

知足者 富也

强行者 有志也

不失其所者 久也

死不忘者 寿也

能看透人心（知人善任）的叫智慧；能看清自己、真正认识自我的叫通透。 能战胜别人的，说明很有力量；能够克制自己的弱点、战胜自己的，算得上是刚强。 知道满足的人才能达成“富裕”的目标；不管前路困苦，也能坚持身体力行的人，心意坚定，是有志气的。 安守本分，不做超出能力的事情，肉身可以长久的生存；肉身死去而精神不亡，代表着活着的长久意义。

Being able to see through people's hearts (knowing how to appoint people) is called wisdom; being able to see through oneself, truly understand oneself is called transparency.

Being able to defeat others means having a lot of strength; being able to restrain one's own weaknesses, defeat oneself is considered strong.

Knowing how to be satisfied can achieve the goal of "prosperity"; no matter how difficult the road ahead is, those who can persist and practice, have a strong will.

Sticking to one's own duty, not doing things beyond one's ability, the body can survive for a long time; the body dies but the spirit does not, represents the long-term significance of living.
