德卌七 - Te Chapter 47

不出于户 以知天下

不规于牖 以知天道

亓出也弥远 亓知也弥少

是以圣人不行而知 不见而名 弗为而成

足不出户，就能推知天下事理；不望窗外，就知道日月星辰运行的规律。 沿着应用发展的道路走得越远，所知道的就越受局限。 所以通达事理的人不用具体实行就能推知事理；不做观测就可以描述事物外在表现；紧守“安在无为”的心态，实际已经获得了成就。

One can understand the principles of the world without leaving home and know the laws of the sun, moon and stars without looking out of the window.

The further one goes down the path of practical application, the more limited one's understanding becomes.

Therefore, those who understand principles do not need to put them into practice to understand them; they can describe the external appearance of things without observing them; and by adhering to the attitude of "contentment in non-action," they have already achieved success.
