道卅七 - Tao Chapter 37

道恒无名 侯王若能守之 万物将自化

化而欲作 吾将阗之以无名之朴

阗之以无名之朴 夫将不辱

不辱以情 天地将自正

道理恒久存在，但是无法（完整的）命名祂。诸侯君王若能遵守道理（进行治理），那么世间万物服就可以寻求自身发展。自身发展的过程中私欲也会随之出现。这时候就提醒自己，实际上对道理的理解和应用的把握只是冰山一角，就像未经雕琢的木材一样。知道自己的欠缺（鄙薄）之后持续寻求进步，就不会觉得羞愧。不觉得羞愧，也就不会影响到内在情绪。没有情绪左右，天地自我平衡，保持正定发展。

In the process of self-development, desires will also appear. At this time, remind yourself that understanding and grasping the principle is only a small part, like unprocessed wood.

Knowing your own shortcomings (modesty) and continuing to seek progress, you will not feel ashamed. Without feeling ashamed, it will not affect your inner emotions. Without emotions affecting, the world will balance itself, maintaining a stable development.
